This replaces the harmful ‘forever chemicals’ found in standard foam fire extinguisher models with eco-friendly alternatives. These PFAS chemicals have been linked to multiple health issues as well as negative effects on the environment and wildlife, this is why many are choosing to go PFAS free.

Is PFAS Free A Legal Requirement?

PFAS free is not a legal requirement, however, many are opting for PFAS free because of a constantly shifting legal landscape that is moving increasingly towards further PFAS bans. The European Chemicals Agency have proposed both a total PFAS ban and a targeted PFAS ban for firefighting foams. While these would not be directly applicable to the UK, the Health and Safety Executive is in consultations about the use of PFAS in firefighting foams and many believe that more PFAS bans are only a matter of time.

A Premium Product

The Firechief Elite 6 litre Puresafe Polished Fluorine Free Foam Fire Extinguisher isn’t just an eco-friendly alternative; it is a top quality product built to an impeccable design.
