How do I dispose of used materials from the spill kit?

All used absorbents and PPE should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations for hazardous waste. Our spill kits include disposal bags and ties for you to store any used items, but you should check your local environmental guidelines for more information about proper disposal procedures.

Where should I store a spill kit?

Spill kits should always be placed in areas where there is most likely to be a spill. For example, you should have a spill kit near machinery, where you are refuelling equipment or anywhere where you are handling oil or fuel. A spill kit must be placed in an area that can be easily accessed in the case of an emergency.

What are the three types of spill kits?

Not all spill kits can be used for any type of liquid. When handling a spill, you must make sure you are using the appropriate spill kit, as spill control products are generally only designed to absorb certain liquids. For example, you should use an oil spill kit for oil or fuel spillages, as the absorbent pads are designed to absorb oil and fuel liquids. The three main types of spill kits are Oil and Fuel Spill Kits, Chemical Spill Kits and General Purpose Spill Kits.
